  1. Ask your partner questions.  Write down their answers.

    1. What is your first name?  How do you spell that?

    2. What is your last name?  How do you spell that?

    3. Where are you from?  How do you spell that?

    4. Where do you live?  How do you spell that?

    5. What language do you speak?  How do you spell that?

  1. Listen to your partner’s answers.

    1. If you can’t understand, you can say, “Can you say that again, please?”  or “Can you please repeat?” or “Can you speak more slowly?”

    2. Your partner can help you understand by saying, “B as in boy” or “V as in violin.”

  1. Switch! (=Change)  Now your partner will ask you the same questions and you will answer and they will write.

  1. Continue talking.  Ask and answer more questions.  You don’t need to write now.
