Hello!

My name is Elizabeth Bilyeu, and I use she or they pronouns. I teach art history both online and at the Cascade Campus of PCC. Courses that I have taught include the Introduction to Art sequence (ART101 – architecture, 102 – visual arts, and 103 – new media arts), the Modern Art History sequence (ART211, 212, and 213), Women in Art (ART210), Honors Art History (ART204H, 205H, 206H), and Introduction to the History of Photography (ART216). I also teach at Southeast Campus sometimes.

My job includes co-directing the Art Department at Cascade Campus. In the past, I directed the Paragon Arts Gallery at Cascade Campus. Please come by and check out the exhibitions there!

Participating in the Portland Women in Art Lecture Series committee since its founding in 2010 is another meaningful arts-related activity of mine at PCC.

In 2018, I curated the exhibition “Witness: Themes of Social Justice in Contemporary Printmaking and Photography from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation” at the Hallie Ford Museum of Art at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. It was incredibly challenging, and I had lots of amazing input and suggestions about the art works from students in my classes at PCC! You can check out the exhibition catalogue at the PCC Library.

Listed at the bottom of this page are the current courses that I am teaching. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
