Background
I am Estefania Herrera (she/they) a Latina Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDNs) with a Masters in Nutrition Sciences. Born and raised in Mexico, immigrated to U.S to Las Vegas Nevada in 2012, and moved to Oregon about 2 years ago. Currently I am pursuing a Ph.D in Public Health focused on community health. I am married to a Clinical Dietitian & Musician. We are 39 weeks pregnant with a little baby girl, meaning we are days away from meeting her. I am huge animal lover. We have two cats (Gary and Perri).
I have many interest within the field of nutrition to name a couple: holistic medicine, eastern medicine, trauma informed care, culturally responsive care and equitable healthcare access. Therefore, I am sure we will have very interesting conversations during class not only about the science of food, but also about our relationship with food as individuals and as community.
