Background
Here is a little bit about me, Florence Spraggins:
I have worked at Portland Community College since 2001!
I currently work at PCC as a part time faculty member in the Psychology Department. I was an Online Development Facilitator in the Distance Education area for three years and worked in the PCC CLIMB Center at the Institute for Health Professionals for seven years. I also worked as a part time faculty member at Mt. Hood Community College and taught Ensuring Quality Care (Adult Foster Care) for several years. I worked eighteen years at Job Corps, a federally funded program for disadvantaged youth, and in both in-patient and out-patient addiction treatment. I was on the Board of Directors for the Addiction Counselor Certification Board of Oregon (ACCBO) for five years and was a member of the Oregon Coalition of Addiction Studies Educators from 2003-2008. I have also participated as a Quality Matters Master Reviewer and helped others to make their online courses the best they can be.
My philosophy of teaching is that it is a helping profession. I am here to facilitate your learning experiences.
“If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.” ~Dali Lama
