Here are the slides from today.
Here is what we did in the computer lab:

From last week: Go to my.pcc.edu and log in with your PCC username and password.  Send Heather an email about what you are doing right now.  Use the present progressive.  Write at least four affirmative sentences and one negative sentence. Example: I am writing an e-mail. I am not driving.

  1. Read The Winter 2025 ESOL Ambassador. Do you see your family paragraph or your classmates’ paragraphs?
  2. 11:30 Take a class evaluation. Please let me know how Level 2 was for you. Do not write your name. Thank you for your feedback!

Now you all know which class you are taking in the spring. I know some of you are disappointed that you are not moving to Level 3. Remember that most students are in Level 2 for two or three terms, and sometimes longer. If you are continuing with Level 2, you have one or more skills that are not strong enough for Level 3 yet, even if you have been working hard and have improved your English this term. I will register you for your spring class this week. Please let me know if you want to take the evening class instead of the morning class or if you do not want to take a class in the spring.

Friday is the last day of our class. Please return any PCC English in Action 2 books/workbooks you borrowed this term on Friday.

We will have a short quiz about was/were and some adjectives on Friday. We will practice and review first.

  1. EIA 2: Review Unit 8: “Good Weekend/Bad Weekend,” pp. 140-142. Here is the link to listen.  Read pp. 144, 145, 146 (especially the blue grammar boxes). We’ll have a short Unit 8 quiz on Friday.

  2. Practice speaking your book report. Friday book reports: Huber, Yazmin, Gloria, Who else?

  3. Correct your Unit 6 test. Don’t erase your first answer. Write your correction with another color pen or on a new paper.

  4. Finish independent practice #5 (due Friday)

Friday is the last day to turn in late homework. Finish and turn in late (old) homework: Voicemail #3simple present and present continuous paragraphsSelf-evaluation.
