We had CASAS testing at the beginning of class and then English practice:

7.  Go to my.pcc.edu and log in with your PCC username and password.  Send Heather an email about what you are doing right now.  Use the present progressive.  Write at least four affirmative sentences and one negative sentence. Example: I am writing an e-mail. I am not driving.

We had a short time in class after the break. We reviewed some Unit 6 vocabulary with a word search. Then we reviewed some Work Equipment vocabulary with the present continuous on p. 111. Finally we spend a little time talking about have to/has to ( and don’t have to/doesn’t have to) about when something is necessary or not.
Here is your homework for Friday:
1. Study for the Unit 6 Test:
There will be listening, vocabulary, reading, describing pictures using present continuous (= present progressive). and writing. Review these parts:
  • Have to/has to, p. 113
  • Occupations, pp. 110-111; p. 113. Workbook, p. 40
  • Work Equipment, p. 110
  • Simple present (affirmative and negative), p. 112
  • Present progressive  (affirmative and negative; answering questions), p. 106; p. 107; p. 108; p. 109
  • Finish your Unit 6 Workbook, pp. 38-43 if you didn’t already
  • EIA 2: Review Unit 6 (read, write, listen, speak). Here is the link to listen.

2. Write your simple present and present continuous paragraphs.

3. Finish independent practice #4.
4. Read your library book and finish working on your book report. Let me know when you are ready!
5. Do old (late) homework: Self-evaluation. Unit 6 workbook: pages 38-43. Write complete sentences on your own paper.
The last day for late homework is next Friday, March 14th. That is our last class. Please turn in the English in Action books you borrowed that day. On Monday, March 17th we will have a party!
