About Me
I am the Program Dean for Course Design and Quality for Online Learning. My primary responsibilities are to manage the course development workflow and the instructional design team and provide faculty and departments with high-quality online courses. I also co-chair the Accessibility Work Group for the Oregon Community College Distance Learning Association (OCCDLA).
My educational background is quite broad. I have an undergraduate degree in Chemistry from a liberal arts college with minors in Business Management and Environmental Science. I have Masters degrees in both Economics and Environmental Science & Management. In addition, I have three graduate certificates: Management in Science & Technology, Environmental and Natural Resource Economics, and Sustainability.
I have taught in higher education for 13 years as part-time faculty. I taught a variety of economics courses, but have also taught Business Communication and Statistics courses. My Principles of Micro and Macroeconomics courses both used open educational resources (OER) and my Microeconomics course was nationally recognized by Quality Matters.
Previous Roles
- Co-chair: Accessible Digital Environments Committee (ADEC)
- Part-time Faculty: Taught a variety of economics courses, Business Communication, and Statistics courses.
- Online Program Manager: Developed, implemented, and managed a new instructional design program.
Previous Faculty Support Roles
- Online Development Facilitator focusing on Accessibility in Online Learning: Review online courses for web accessibility, provided accessibility training, and tested technological tools for adoption.
- Instructional Technology Specialist at the Rock Creek Campus: Trained faculty on a variety of instructional technologies, like D2L Brightspace.
- Online Faculty Mentor for Online Learning: Provided instructional design guidance for faculty developing new online courses and reviewed finished courses using the QM Rubric.
