Week 5 homework (October 21 to 24, 2024)
Note: Please try to finish the homework before the next class. You don’t need to send it to me because we usually talk about the answers in class. Also, when you finish the homework & prepare for class, it helps me decide if you will be ready for Level 3 or not.
from class Monday, October 21, 2024:
1. Workbook pages 12 & 13, Exercises K & L. Listen to the audio for each exercise. Complete the exercises in your workbook, or, for more writing practice, copy the exercises into your notebook. For Exercise L, remember to only write the TRUE sentences about the picture. We’ll check your answers in class Wednesday, October 23, 2024.
2. Writing about classrooms. Think about a school classroom in your country, or, if you have children in school, think about their classroom. Write 3 or 4 affirmative and 3 or 4 negative sentences about the classroom in your notebook. Example: There is a teacher’s desk. There are blackboards. There aren’t any whiteboards. There isn’t a computer. We’ll talk about your information in class Wednesday, October 23, 2024.
3. Video: There is/There are with Misha & Larissa <– Click here for the video we watched in class. Review There is and There are. Play along with their game and see how many things you can remember from each set. Note: The video is on Youtube, so you need to SKIP ADS at the beginning.
4. Extra listening practice with Student Book page 26, Exercise B <– Click here for the audio. Listen to the audio again and write the questions on another paper. Check your answers HERE <– Click for the answers.

1. Pronunciation practice with Workbook page 13, Exercise L <– Click here for the audio. Listen and repeat each sentence. Do this a few times to improve your pronunciation.
2. Reading with Workbook page 13, Exercise M <– Click here for the audio. Listen and read the short text “My School”. Then complete the exercise. #1 is an example. We’ll check your answers in class tomorrow, Thursday, October 24, 2024.
3. Extra vowel practice with videos — These videos have lots of examples of words with short a and short e. Some of the words are probably new for you — don’t worry about it! Just focus on listening for the short a and short e sounds.
