Week 1 homework (September 23 to 26, 2024)

Note:  Please try to finish the homework before the next class.  You don’t need to send it to me because we usually talk about the answers in class.  Also, when you finish the homework & prepare for class, it helps me decide if you will be ready for Level 3 or not.
from class Monday, September 23, 2024:

1.  Workbook pages 2 & 3, Exercises A, B, & C.  <– Click here for a scan of the pages. Copy the exercises into your notebook. 

2. Practice with a friend or family member:

  • “What’s your name?  Where are you from?  How long have you been here?”
  • Alphabet & “Spell your first name.  Spell your last name.”

3.  review Student Book page 2, Exercises A & B.  Listen & repeat.

1.  Continue to practice with a friend or family member:

2.  Practice with possessive adjectives (my, your, his, her, etc.)

  • Student Book page 4, Exercise A <– Click here for the audio.  Listen & repeat.  Review the grammar.page 4 a
  • Handout — Possessive Adjectives (<– Click here for the handout from class.) Complete the exercise on the handout, or, for extra writing practice, copy the exercise items on another paper.  We will check this homework in class tomorrow, Thursday, September 26, 2024.

1. Practice the alphabet:

  • ABC song with Ray Charles & friends <– Click here for the video.  SKIP the ad at the beginning.
  • Alphabet <– Click here.  Click on the speaker icon to hear the letter.
  • Practice “How do you spell your first name?  How do you spell your last name?”  Practice with a friend or family member.
  • Online alphabet exercises <– Click here and try the exercises.  This should work well on your phone.

2.  Writing.  Write about your classmates with the information you got in class on Wednesday.  Example:  My classmate’s name is Tomas.  He is from Mexico.  He speaks Spanish.  He lives in Hillsboro.  His favorite color is orange.  Write your sentences on another paper.  Use blue or black pen and skip lines. Write your name at the top.  Please give this to me on Monday, September 30, 2024.
