Week 1 (March 31 to April 3, 2025) homework
Note: Please try to finish the homework before the next class. You don’t need to send it to me because we usually talk about the answers in class. Also, when you finish the homework & prepare for class, it helps me decide if you will be ready for the expectations of Level 4 or not.
Homework & tasks from Monday, March 31, 2025:
1. College business:

2. “Using Social Language” (<– Click here for the handout from class.) Practice these short conversations with a friend or family member. They are very common; that means you will hear them very often. Try to memorize them.
3. Practice with quantifiers (<– Click here if you don’t have the books yet.) Review the grammar on Student Book page 8 and try the exercises on Workbook page 5. You can complete the exercises on the handout paper, or, for extra writing practice, copy the exercises into your notebook. We’ll check the answers in class on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

- Note: These videos are on D2L, the college app for class pages. You can access the videos with your myPCC username & password. If you need help accessing your myPCC account for the first time, please talk to me before class or during the break.
Homework from class Wednesday, April 2, 2025:
1. College business:

- Tomorrow, April 3, from 6:00 – 7 :30 p.m., Maricela and help yo u pay for your class by phone with a debit/credit card.
- Purchase or order your book bundle (<– Click here for instructions.)
2. Writing — about your friends. Write 5 or more sentences about your friends. Use the quantifying phrases on page 8 from your Student Book. For example: All of my friends have a job. Some of my friends wear glasses. Most of my friends drink coffee. etc. Write your sentences on another paper in blue or black pen and skip lines. Write your name at the top. Try to give me the sentences in class tomorrow, Thursday, April 3, 2025. If you can’t, Monday, April 7, is okay, too.
3. “Using Social Language” (<– Click here for the handout from class.) Continue to practice these short conversations with a friend or family member. Try to memorize them.
4. Practice the clarification questions (on the pink paper) that we talked about in class today.
5. Quiz on Monday, April 7, 2025 about the syllabus (class information) handout. You will have a true/false quiz (short, short test) on Monday about class information. Example:

2. Study for your quiz! You will have a quiz (short test) on Monday, April 7, 2025 about the syllabus (class information) handout. The quiz is true/false about class information. Example:
