Homework from class Monday, July 8, 2024:
  1. Pronunciation with Student Book page 7, Exercise D.  Practice the sentences without and with contractions.  Practice with a friend or family member:  they say the sentence without contractions, and you repeat it with contractions.
  2. Pronunciation with dates:  Listen and repeat the ordinal numbers (1st, 2nd, etc.) on these webpages.
  3. Practice reading dates <– Click here for the handout from class. Follow the directions.  Read the date with words, then circle the same date with numbers.  #1 is an example. We’ll check the answers in class on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.
  4. BE verb practice <– Click here for the handout from class. Don’t worry! It is not a quiz. It’s just for practice. Circle A, B or C to finish each sentence correctly. For extra writing practice, copy the exercise into your notebook.  For example with #1 My brother knows how to fly an airplane.  He is a pilot. We’ll check the answers in class on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

  2. Practice with capital letters: “Laurent” ← Click here for the handout from class. Correct the errors with capital letters.  For extra writing practice, copy the paragraph into your notebook and skip lines.
  3. Continue to practice pronunciation with dates:  Listen and repeat the ordinal numbers (1st, 2nd, etc.) on these webpages.
Homework from class Thursday, July 11, 2024:
  1. Student Book page 7, Exercise F — Write the sentences on another paper with contractions.  Example for #1 I’m a student. Write the sentences on another paper to give to me.  Use blue or black pen and skip lines.  NO PENCIL, please!  You’ll give it to me in class on Monday, July 15, 2024.
  2. Student Book page 8.  Read the blue grammar box.  Try Exercise B.  For extra writing practice, copy Exercise B into your notebook.  We’ll check the answers in class on Monday, July 15, 2024.
