Week 1 (January 6 to 9, 2025) homework
Note: Please try to finish the homework before the next class. You don’t need to send it to me because we usually talk about the answers in class. Also, when you finish the homework & prepare for class, it helps me decide if you will be ready for the expectations of Level 4 or not.
Homework from Monday, January 6, 2025:
1. Kenji & Gloria’s Interview <– Listen to Kenji & Gloria’s interview again. Write the questions that Gloria asks Kenji. Write the questions on another paper or in your notebook. Example for #1: What country are you from? Please do not look in the textbook! We’ll check the questions in class on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
2. Grammar review about BE verb. Try the exercises on the handout I gave you in class. The exercises review using the BE verb or no BE verb. You can complete the exercises on the handout, or, for extra writing practice, copy them into your notebook. We’ll check the answers in class on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

3. Reading: Mohammed’s Future Goals <– Click here for the handout from class. Read page 2 about Mohammed and do the exercise on page 3. Circle words that you want to remember or that are new for you. We’ll continue this lesson in class on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
Homework from Wednesday, January 8, 2025:
1. Finish the BE handouts ( BE or No BE & Correct the errors with the BE verb) if you haven’t yet. For extra writing practice, copy them into your notebook.
2. Grammar practice with should & shouldn’t. Complete the handout I gave you in class (the links are below). You can complete the exercises on the handout, or, for extra writing practice, copy them into your notebook. We’ll check the answers in class tomorrow, Thursday, January 9, 2025.

Homework from Thursday, January 9, 2025:
1. Prepare for your quiz! Your first quiz will be on Monday, January 13, 2025. I will give you 12 questions about class expectations and other class information. You will write a short answer or circle True/False. Please review the information that we have talked about in class and try the handout (<– click here) that I gave you in class.
2. Your goals (<– Click here for the handout; it is the last page of the “Mohammed” handout from Monday). Complete the graphic with your personal, educational and materials goals. Try to write sentences with “want to + verb” about your goals in your notebook; for example, I want to eat more vegetables. I want to learn computer programming. We’ll talk about your goals in class Monday, January 13, 2025.
3. Grammar practice with should/shouldn’t <– Click here for the handout I gave you in class. For each item, circle the correct letter of the answer that correctly completes the sentence or question. For extra writing practice, copy the completed sentences into your notebook. For example with #1 — Thomas wants to travel to Europe next summer. He should save his money. We’ll check your answers in class on Monday, January 13, 2025.
