Week 2 (January 13 to 16, 2025) homework

Note:  Please try to finish the homework before the next class.  You don’t need to send it to me because we usually talk about the answers in class.  Also, when you finish the homework & prepare for class, it helps me decide if you will be ready for the expectations of Level 4 or not.
Homework from Monday, January 13, 2025:

1. Student Book pages 12 & 13.  Read and listen to “English is Frustrating!” (<– click here for the audio) on page 12.  Then read the suggestions on page 13 in Exercise B.  You only need to read and circle new vocabulary or other words that you want to remember.  We’ll talk about these and how you can use them in class on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

2.  Student Book pages 18 & 19.  Look at the picture on page 18 and try to identify the objects that you see. Try Exercise A ; please don’t look at the answers at the bottom! On page 19, Exercise B, answer the questions with your information.  For extra writing practice, copy the sentences into your notebook.  We’ll talk about this information about the “Average American” in class on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

3.  Student Book page 31, Exercise E.  Look at the sentences and correct the verb mistakes.  If there is no mistake, write correct on on the line on the right. We’ll check your answers in class on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

4.  Ask a friend, family member (or another person you are comfortable with) about their goals.  Ask them about two education goals, two personal goals, and two material goals.  Make notes about the answers to discuss in class this week.

  • What are two of your educational goals?
  • What are two of your personal goals?
  • What are two of your material goals?
