Note:  Please try to finish the homework before the next class.  You don’t need to send it to me because we usually talk about the answers in class.  Also, when you finish the homework & prepare for class, it helps me decide if you will be ready for the expectations of Level 4 or not.
Homework from class Monday, February 3, 2025:

1.  Questions about PCC student data (<– Click here for the handout I gave you in class.)  Look at the handout with PCC student information in green charts (<– Click here for the data.)  Look at the example and complete the handout.  You can write your answers on the handout, or, for extra writing practice, copy the sentences into your notebook.  We’ll check your answers in class on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.

2.  Practice with time expressions.  Complete the handouts I gave you in class.  (The links are below if you missed class).  Complete the exercises on the handouts, or, for extra writing practice, copy them into your notebook. We’ll check your answers in class on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.

Homework from class Wednesday, February 5, 2025:

1. Workbook page 10, Exercise D — Complete the exercise in your workbook, or, for extra writing practice, copy the sentences into your notebook.  We’ll check the answers in class tomorrow, February 6, 2025.

2. Honorable Grandfather Chapter 1 audio <– Click here for the audio to Chapter 1 of Honorable Grandfather.  The link is on D2L, so you need your myPCC username & password.  If you want to print out the entire story (Chapters 1 to 6), click here –> Honorable Grandfather complete packet.  You need your  myPCC username & password for this also.

3.  Extra practice with Yes/No questions <– Check your answers here after you finish the exercises. We will not go over these in class, but you can ask me questions about them before class or during the break.

Homework from class Thursday, February 6, 2025:

1.  Student Book pages 24 & 25, both B exercises.  Write sentences about yourself or a friend/family member. Write on another paper, use blue or black pen, and skip lines, please! I will collect your sentences in class on Monday, February 10, 2025.

  • page 24/Exercise B — Write sentences with a time expression from the blue boxes at the top of the page or an expression with in/at/on.  Example for #1:  My friend goes dancing every weekend.  or I don’t go dancing.
  • page 25/Exercise B — Write sentences with an adverb of frequency from the blue boxes at the top of the page. Example for #1:  I always eat breakfast.  or My friend usually eats breakfast. Remember that the adverb goes before an action verb and after the BE verb.

2.  Study for your in/at/on quiz.  You will have a quiz about using in/at/on with time on Monday, February 10, 2025.  Review the handouts and exercises we did in class and watch the video (<– click here for the video on D2L) again and review these online exercises (<– click here.)

3.  Please listen to and read the first chapter of Honorable Grandfather again. Click here for the audio –> Honorable Grandfather Chapter 1 audio .  The link is on D2L, so you need your myPCC username & password.  If you want to print out the entire story (Chapters 1 to 6), click here –> Honorable Grandfather complete packet.  You need your  myPCC username & password for this also.  Make notes of new vocabulary that you want to remember.
