Applesauce Supply List

To participate in the Beginner Applesauce class you’ll need to bring the following:

  1. Clean Mason Jars – I recommend playing it safe and bringing a dozen Pint (16oz) jars
  2. Rings and Lids – you’ll need to bring one ring and one lid per jar (if you buy brand new jars these will be included).  Please make sure if you are buying rings and lids separately that you pay attention to wide vs regular mouth jars so you get the right size. (WinCo, Bi-Mart and Wal-Mart have the best prices on these)
  3. Apples – 12lbs (please weigh your apples, most people are not great at estimating)
    • The type of apple you pick will affect the sauce you get.
    • If you like things more tart you could go with something like Granny Smith or Jonathon.
    • If you like things more sweet you can go with Golden Delicious, Fuji, or Braeburn.
    • If you like something in the middle you could go with Gala or Pink Lady.
  4. A box to take your jars home in.  If you buy a new flat of jars the box they come in is great!
