Background Check
From the Addiction Counseling program chair:
Students who are currently involved in the justice system on probation or parole may have a difficult time finding a practicum site. We recommend you get a full/accurate report of your history. If you have concerns about your background, you can look into getting a fitness determination.
You can find more information at Oregon Administrative Rules: ORS 181A.195, ORS 267.237, and OAR 407-007-0277.

Student Loan Debt Forgiveness – For Substance Use Treatment Professionals
H.R. 5102 Substance Abuse Disorder Workforce Loan Repayment Act 2018
There is a loan forgiveness program for individuals who work for governmental agencies and non-profits. Not every employer qualifies and the program makes no promises that it will be around – it all depends on political issues. In short, you need to get enrolled in the program at the beginning of your work tenure- after 10 years (120) payments then the remainder of your loan is forgiven.
