Bio
Originally from Colorado with mixed Anglo and Mexican-American xicanx roots, T Edward Bak is a Portland-based cartoonist and comics educator whose work is informed by natural history, traditional ecological knowledge, pop culture, and esoteric/occult dimensions at various crossroads of western North American psychogeography and biogeography. He has been guiding PCC students through his Community Education comics course for several years and is perpetually enthused to introduce artists to the concepts and practice of comics storytelling through a general overview of nonfiction comics.
In addition to his current project – the graphic novel ‘ISLAND OF MEMORY, SEA OF TIME’, Mr Bak is the author-illustrator of the collection ‘NOT A PLACE TO VISIT’. His comics have appeared online at The Nib and have been printed in the pages of High Country News magazine, the anthologies Orchid, MOME, Drawn & Quarterly Showcase, and The Best American Comics.
