——————————————————–

HW   # 2

10.3  15 – 80 by 5

10.5   15 – 80 by 5

10.6   15 – 75 by 3  and check a few by multiplication

11.1   Please read very carefully and do problems 9 – 36 by 3 and only do part a.  You do not need to do b. and c.

——————————————————–

HW   # 3

11.1 : 5 – 95 by 5 [Do at least last one for each problem]

11.2:  3 – 33 by 3

11.4:  9 – 39 by 3

——————————————————–

HW   # 4

Please read 7.1 and 7.2 carefully.

Please go to page pcc.edu/staff/wdiss/notes.  Please read and copy into your notebook the notes for solving by using the quadratic formula and solving by using the square root property.  These notes are under the topic Quadratic Equations.

Problems:

7.1:  3 – 30 by 3

7.2:  12 – 24 by 3

——————————————————–

HW   # 5

NOTE:  Different instructions on this assignment from the ones listed in the book.

7.2:  11 – 40.

  • If a polynomial can be factored, solve by factoring.
  • If the equation can be solved by the square root property, please use the square root method.
  • If polynomial cannot be factored and if the equation cannot be set up to use square root method, then use the quadratic formula or complete the square.
  • When using the quadratic formula or completing the square do 1/2 with one method and 1/2 with the other.

——————————————————–

HW   # 6

Please read the notes from on Quadratic Functions at:

pcc.edu/staff/wdiss/notes

I have also included the links here:

Quadratic Functions

The notes on graphing are then very necessary to complete the following:

9.3:  33 – 36.  Please do one per piece of graph paper.

If you do not have graph paper, you can print one up from this website.

http://www.printfreegraphpaper.com/gp/c-i-14.pdf

People are still having trouble with completing the square.  You can look at the notes at for completing the square and for the other three methods we learned at:

pcc.edu/staff/wdiss/notes

I have also included the links here:

Quadratic Equations

Please solve the following by completing the square.

13.3:  17, 19, 26, 27

——————————————————–

HW   # 7

Section 13.2 Please put problems 25 – 28 in vertex form.  Do not graph as the instructions stated.  Use notes from class on November 5, 2019.

Section 7.3: 11, 17, 19.

Section 12.1:  7 – 14

——————————————————–

Test #2 Preparation

Please make a sample test and take the sample test with the following:

7.3:  20

7.2:  35 (Use quadratic formula)

7.1 : 18 (Use square root property)

7.2:  31 (Use Completing the Square)

9.3:  36

13.3:  41

12.1:  10

12.2:  35

HW   # 8

Read notes for Rational Expressions at:

pcc.edu/staff/wdiss/notes.

12.2:  45 – 54 by 3.

12.2:  75 – 81 by 3.

12.2:  89 – 92 and 97 – 98

———————————————-

HW   # 9

I may post more notes before Tuesday, 11/26/19  under the topic of Rational Expressions and Functions.

pcc.edu/staff/wdiss/notes.

Most of the following problems take at least an entire page to do one problem.  Please start each problem on a new page.

12.3:  45 – 47, 53

12.4:  9, 11, 31

12.5:  39, 44, 45, 49

Please look at examples for worded problems in 12.5 and look at example to solve a rational equation for a particular variable.

Recall that I am meeting people on Saturday, or see me about other times.  Saturday:  Bldg 7, Rm 114  1:30 PM to 3:30 PM or later if students are still present.
