HW #3, Due on February 1, 2022
- 5.6: 5 – 125 by 5, which is 5, 10, 15, 20, …

HW #4, Due on February 10, 2022
- 6.2: 1 – 45 odd. I know we DO NOT have steps for rationalizing denominators, but I think the examples are very complete in this section. Please read carefully and we can certainly double check things at our first session for week # 5.
HW #5, Due on February 15, 2022
- 6.3: Every other odd, that is, 1, 5, 9, 13, . . . , 73. Please skip 35, 37, and 39. Please check this frequently as I will be writing notes to help on the problems. Please write the notes in your notebook and please read them out loud as you write them down.
HW #6, Due on February 22, 2022
- 6.4: 13 – 33 odd
- 6.5: 5 – 60 by 5

Test Preparation for Test #2: March 3 , 2022
- The test is over HW #4, 5, 6, and 7.
- A good way to study is to work a variety of problems from these two sections. Work at least one of each type of problem.
- 6.5: 29 – 72
- 7.5: 1 – 24
- On Tuesday, March 1, 2022, we did cover 7.2 on solving a quadratic equation using the quadratic formula. Please memorize the general form of a quadratic equation and the quadratic formula. These are both listed at the start of 7.2. The following document should help for those who were not in class on March 1st.
- We also covered a bit of 7.3 and you should know what an imaginary number is and a complex number. I will quickly review this on Thursday, March 3, 2022 before we take Test #2.
HW #8, Due on March 8, 2022
- Please put the following notes on solving using the quadratic formula in your notebook if you missed 3/1/2022 class. If you were in class on that day, I think you should at least copy the example.
- For everyone please put the following notes in your notebook on solving with complex solutions.
- Please look at the book and click on explanations for the following examples:
- 7.3.10
- 7.5.4
- 7.5.5
- 7.5.6
- 7.5.7
- Please do the following problems:
- 7.5: 13-31 odd. We will work #25 in class, it is a bit of a challenge, but I think you should try and work it.
- Please read over chapter 8.
HW #9, Due on March 15, 2022
- 9.3: 37, 45, 49, please graph on graph paper
- Please look at Ch 8 as we will cover all of it on March 15th, Tuesday.
- Please start working out ALL problems on both Test #1 and Test #2.
- We will review all topics for Math 65 on Thursday, March 17, 2022.
