HW #1 Due on October 5, 2020

  • 2.2: 1, 11 – 50, 53 – 76  (Pages 111 – 113)
  • Memorize time tables, by writing out many times, using flash cards, etc.
  • Write out all time tables from 1 x 1 up through 12 x 12. many times, but write one set of all 144 on your homework.
  • Read 1.1, 1.2
  • Put chart from Figure 1-1 on page 2 in notebook.

HW #2 Due on October 12, 2020

  • 1.7:  1 a., b., c.  3 – 48 by 3.  When expanding and multiplying the factors you DO NOT have to put in ( ) how the author did in Example 1:  Just keep working down and multiply two numbers at a time.
  • Memorize time tables and powers of two and square roots.  Powers of two and square roots are on page 64

  • Read 4.1 carefully and put Figure 4-1 in your notebook about place value.
  • Read all yellow boxes carefully except for one on bottom of page 223.
  • Follow all examples carefully except for Examples 5 and 6.

  • Read 4.2 and to add and subtract decimal numbers it is important to stack them up vertically and line up decimal points and be careful with digits in each column.  Examples 1, 2, and 3 are very important.
