Child attending school verifications

This page describes the process for PCC students who are receiving child support payments from their parents. The Oregon Department of Justice Division of Child Support will send students the following forms:

  • Child attending school confirmation
  • Written consent for disclosure or claim of risk

How to submit forms

Complete and sign your portion on both forms, then email the forms to the PCC Student Records office at records@pcc.edu. Student Records will complete forms and return them to the student for submission.

When are requests processed?

PCC sends requests to the state once per term in a batch after the drop deadline to ensure enrollment is reported accurately. Typical processing time is 3-5 business days after the drop deadline, generally by the end of the second week of the term.

Note: PCC must have a written consent for disclosure on file in order to release info to parents or any individual other than the student themselves.

How does PCC define full-time and half-time?

For this process, you’re considered full-time if you’re registered for 12 or more credits in a single term. You’re considered half-time if you’re taking 6 to 11 credits, and less than half-time if you’re taking 5 or fewer credits.

How does PCC define satisfactory academic progress?

PCC students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher to be in academic good standing. For more information visit the academic standards page.

I have already registered. Can you submit my forms now?

PCC submits forms to the state after the drop deadline for the term. This ensures that we are accurately reporting your enrollment to the state. Forms are generally processed by the end of the second week of the term.

Can my advisor or instructor complete these forms?

No. Only Student Records is authorized to complete these forms as the custodian of all official student records for the college.

How often do I need to complete the forms?

You will need to submit these forms each term you take classes.

How do I know when PCC submits my forms?

Once your forms have been submitted to the state, you’ll get a confirmation message in your MyPCC email.

What information is shared with my parents?

In order to release any information, a written consent of disclosure must be on file. Paying parent information requests are limited to unofficial transcripts unless you authorize the release of other information.

I’m a parent paying child support. Can PCC release information to me?

PCC does not automatically release information. A written consent of disclosure must be on file and your request must be in writing. Paying parent information requests are limited to unofficial transcripts unless your student specifically authorizes the release of other information.
