Energy Efficient Buildings and Planning
PCC is dedicated to energy conservation in our construction planning and design.
Here are examples of recent projects completed.
- PCC uses Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), a green building certification program managed by the US Green Building Council.
- Oregon Manufacturing Innovation Center (OMIC) training center opened in 2021 and is a new LEED Silver certified building located in Scappoose, Oregon.
- Newberg Center and Willow Creek Opportunity Center have both earned LEED Platinum, the highest rating given.
- Since 2008, all new construction on PCC campuses have earned a LEED Silver certification or higher in accordance with a voter-approved bond measure.
- Green building signage is used in various buildings across the campuses and centers to point out the green features.
- PCC integrates energy work and college-wide planning efforts very closely with regards to facilities planning and strategic planning.
- Planning & Capital Construction oversees the college’s design and construction efforts and aspires to meet energy efficiency standards throughout the process.
