Program Facts and Highlights
- Our current Student Support Services Program at PCC began in 2010 at Cascade Campus.
- The Program is funded to serve 140 students each year, from September 1 to August 31.
- Students can be served by the Program for up to four years, and most TRIO students graduate in two or three years.
- TRIO SSS is one of the most successful programs at PCC, with high rates of:
- Students in Good Academic and Financial Aid Standing
- Degree and/or Certificate completion
- Persistence (staying in school)
- High GPAs, earning students Honors List status (Honor Roll, Dean’s List, or President’s List) and eligibility for Phi Theta Kappa
- Each year TRIO students are encouraged to apply for scholarships, and use the support resources of the Program to assist in completing the applications.
- TRIO SSS students who completed the 2022-23 PCC Foundation scholarship were collectively awarded almost $32,000.
- At least one TRIO student/alum was awarded a scholarship from the Ford Family Foundation in 2021-22.
- Scholarship award notifications are sent out around the beginning of June!
- 2019-20 scholarship awards totaled at least $38,872 from the PCC Foundation, plus one of our 2020 graduates was awarded a scholarship from the Ford Family Foundation!
- In 2018-19, TRIO students collectively earned nearly $39,000 in scholarship awards to use during their next year at PCC.
- The total award amount for 2017-18 was over $31,000 – 19 students received various amounts for an average amount of over $1,600 per student.
- During 2016-17, over $89,000 in scholarships were awarded to TRIO students. It was the second year in a row that a Cascade TRIO SSS student received the Ford Family Foundation Scholarship!
- In the 2015-16 academic year, over $92,696 in scholarships were awarded to TRIO students from the PCC Foundation, Ford Family Foundation, Pride Foundation, and more.
- Students are encouraged to apply as soon as they are interested!
