Transferring to Western Oregon University
Western Oregon University is a public, liberal arts institution located in the Monmouth-Independence area, about 75 minutes south of Portland. About 6,200 undergraduate students attend WOU. Two thirds of the student population pursues a major in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, the other third is in the College of Education.
To be considered a transfer student, you must have at least 36 transferable credits, maintain a 2.25 cumulative GPA, complete WR 121 or higher with a grade of C or better, and complete a minimum of MTH 105 with a grade of C or better. General Education Classes
If you earn an AAOT degree or an ASOT-B degree from PCC, you will have finished your general education requirements at WOU. If you complete the Core Transfer Map (CTM) at PCC, you will have finished the Mathematics, Writing, and Exploring Knowledge components of the WOU general education requirements. If you do not complete one of those credentials, you can view WOU’s General Education Program requirements. Transfer students with at least 36 transferable credits do not need to take the First Year Seminars.
