Financial Abuse Awareness
Financial abuse is one of many types of abuse that someone may experience.
- According to the National Domestic Violence Hotline, “as with all types of abuse, financial abuse is rooted in the desire of one partner to have power and control over the other. A partner who chooses to abuse will control their partner’s finances or their ability to provide for themselves” (NDVH, 2024).
- Financial abuse is common in abusive relationships. While statistics vary, research shows financial abuse can occur in over 90% of abusive relationships (NNEDV, 2024).
Below are several videos created in partnership with the PCC Women’s Resource Centers to increase awareness of financial abuse.
