Xerces Society: Data Entry/Membership Volunteer

SCOPE: The Data Entry/Membership Volunteer will support the membership team of the Xerces Society. The team is currently undertaking a membership survey, by mail and online, of the 8,000 members of the Xerces Society. Under the supervision of the Membership Director, the Data Entry Volunteer will enter the results of paper surveys into our online system, and will assist in responding to inquiries and sending follow-up mailings to members. There will be potential to help out with other membership projects, if interested. This volunteer position is perfect for someone considering a career in nonprofit fundraising.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Reliable
• Very good computer skills
• Very good handwriting for written notes
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Experience in administrative support
• Interest in non-profit administration

TERMS: This is a part time, in-office, unpaid volunteer position. We are looking for someone to volunteer 5 to 8 hours a week for 2 to 3 months, or until the project is complete. Days of the week and times are flexible.
