The Wetlands Conservancy: 8/15/15 10am-1pm Wetlands Trail Clearing Event! Free Coffee/Pastries!

Posted by

Apache Bluff is a unique wetland nestled between a neighborhood, a golf course, and the Tualatin River. It is an important last stop before any street, yard, or lawn runoff enters the river. The site is home to many native species including 35 species of birds, and 8 distinct plant communities. Unfortunately, invasive plants have begun taking over the nature trail.

We need your help to clear it out again! Join us on August 15th, 10am-1pm for an exciting morning of removing invasive species, picking up litter, and beautifying this important site! Come dressed for the weather. We will provide tools and snacks! Everyone is welcome! Carpooling available. Detailed directions will be sent out with RSVP confirmation.

About the Organization

The Wetlands Conservancy (TWC) is the only organization in Oregon dedicated to promoting community and private partnerships to permanently protect and conserve Oregon’s greatest wetlands – our most biologically rich and diverse lands. For more than 30 years, The Wetlands Conservancy has educated and assisted landowners, neighborhood groups, land trusts, and watershed councils on local stewardship to support fish and wildlife, clean water, open space and people’s appreciation of nature.

Our mission is to partner with communities across our state in conserving, enhancing and restoring the physical and ecological values of Oregon’s greatest wetlands for current and future generations.
