Housecall Providers: Patient Care/Hospice Volunteers

Posted by

Our program currently has volunteer opportunities available for compassionate men and women who have a desire to make a profound difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Housecall Providers volunteers bring comfort to patients who are nearing the end-of-life and offer a calm presence to those afflicted with dementia or Alzheimer’s. Volunteers provide respite to caregivers (usually a three hour shift) or an hour-long friendly visit once a week.

Potential volunteers must complete four comprehensive evening training sessions prior to making visits and also have the opportunity to receive ongoing education and support throughout the year.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older, pass a background check and two TB tests (provided by us) to participate in this opportunity.

Individuals are encouraged to wait a year after the loss of a significant person before serving as a volunteer working with patients, families or caregivers.
