NEW POSTINGS

Below are 4 NEW POSTINGS from these organizations: Neighborhood House, Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District, Housecall Providers, and Sunshine Division.

1. Neighborhood House: Make a fundraising video for our nonprofit

We are looking for a creative individual to take initiative in creating a short video to kick-off our 2016 SW Hope fundraising campaign. The video will capture our food pantry in action and include interviews with families that we serve. The finished video will be an inspiring call to action for our past participants and new groups within the faith community. Work will take place over the course of the Late Summer and Fall Semester based on our volunteer’s time availability. Filming will take place at our food pantry in Multnomah Village and potentially in other locations.

3. Housecall Providers: Personal Trainer for Patient with Disabilities

We are currently searching for a volunteer act as a personal trainer for one of our patients. The patient in question is 56 years old, lives in SE Portland, is partially blind, and has suffered stroke and brain injury. He is approximately 350 pounds due to inactivity, and will not exercise without outside prompting. He is currently able to walk about 20 minutes with at least one rest in the middle. He also has an access to an exercise bike and can be convinced to use it with coaching. Eventually, trips to the gym would be a possibility.

The ideal candidate will be patient but firm, and have some understanding of traumatic brain injury and/or experience working with people with developmental disabilities. Volunteer should have a calm but direct and firm demeanor, and be available for two 30 minute sessions per week. Potential volunteers must complete our training, be 18 years of age or older, pass a background check and two TB tests (provided by us).

This is a rare opportunity to make a real difference in the life of another. If this sounds like the volunteer experience you have been searching for, we would like to hear from you!
