Northwest Children’s Theater: Welcome young theater-goers, their families and classes to the stage!
Posted by hannah.cherry
NWCT needs reliable, enthusiastic volunteers to usher for our winter show of Shrek: The Musical!
Many of our attendees are first-time theater goers. We welcome school classes during the week and have shows open to the public on weekends. Ushers help patrons find their seats, pass out programs, answer questions, give directions, and help sell concessions. Most importantly, ushers help ensure every theater-goer no matter how small has a wonderful experience at the theater!
All performances happen in our theater:
1819 NW Everett St. Portland, OR 97209
Each NWCT Mainstage Show performance needs ushers. The full schedule is available on our website: nwcts.org. Generally, show times are noon & 4:30pm on weekends and 9:45am & noon on weekdays. Ushers arrive 45minutes before a show. All ushers see the show for free, and children as young as six are invited to volunteer with their families.
NWCT strongly believes in making theater accessible for everyone. We have ASL, audio-described, and sensory-friendly performances in addition to discounted tickets for SNAP recipients and Title 1 schools. Students interested in education are strongly encouraged to apply.
