I. Spring Oregon Beach Cleanup, presented by AAA Oregon

Celebrate the Oregon coast by giving back on March 26! Since 1986, the Oregon tradition of cleaning up our beaches has supported clean seas and healthy communities for our residents, visitors and wildlife. This is a family friendly event, covering the entire Oregon coast; it draws thousands of volunteers each year and all Oregonians are encouraged to join in.

II. SOLVE IT for Earth Day

Be a part of the largest Earth Day event in Oregon on April 23! SOLVE IT for Earth Day supports Oregonians in taking care of our neighborhoods, parks, and natural areas. Our activities are a fun, easy way to get outdoors, meet your neighbors and make a difference for Oregon by joining a litter cleanup, removing invasive weeds, or planting native trees and shrubs. Only you can ensure our state is kept clean and healthy.

III. SOLVE: Beach & Riverside Cleanup

Join thousands of volunteers on September 24 for the SOLVE Beach & Riverside Cleanup as we take care of Oregon’s neighborhoods, parks, and natural areas. It’s an easy, fun way to get outside, meet your neighbors, and make a difference by cleaning up litter and marine debris, removing invasive plants, or planting native trees and shrubs at project sites along the entire coast and across the state. Part of the International Coastal Cleanup and National Public Lands Day, this event has been a family-friendly Oregon tradition for over three decades. Get involved today and make a difference for tomorrow!

2. OHSU ThinkFirst Oregon: Volunteers needed for Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Prevention Event!

OHSU ThinkFirst Oregon is in need of volunteers for Kid Fest at the Portland Expo Center (address: 2060 N Marine Dr, Portland, OR 97217) on Saturday February 20th and Sunday February 21st, 2016. The event runs from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm each day.

Volunteers will help our non-profit brain and spinal cord injury prevention program by helping to measure heads and fit bike helmets, educating and informing the community on brain and spinal cord injuries through running fun/educational activities and speaking about brain anatomy and injury through the use of brain models as well as helping out the event staff in checking people in.

3. Children’s Clean Water Festival: 23rd Annual Children’s Clean Water Festival

The Children’s Clean Water Festival is put together by a coalition of municipal government agencies, water providers and non-profits. Every 25 minutes, class groups move from one event to another according to their personalized schedule. Volunteer roles include:

  1. Class Guide. You will help guide a class around campus to their scheduled activities.
  2. General Festival Volunteer. This is “behind-the-scenes” work that allows the Festival to run smoothly.

It’s fun and easy! To sign-up, simply register at cleanwaterfestival.org
