What is Explorando el Columbia Slough?

The Columbia Slough Watershed Council presents its annual Explorando el Columbia Slough, a bilingual nature festival with fun for the whole family! Guests enjoy guided canoe rides, music and dance, storytelling, community groups, rock wall, nature crafts and more. Volunteers help manage all aspects of this event – their participation is essential to our success!

Do I have to speak Spanish to participate?

Not necessarily. This is a fantastic opportunity for Spanish speakers in our community! Native and fluent speakers are needed during all hours of the festival and are encouraged to sign up. Those with little to no Spanish are still welcome to volunteer. We’ll partner you with someone who speaks Spanish!

What’s it like to volunteer?

Volunteers help manage festival set up, registration, arts and face painting, parking, gardening, rock climbing registration, food and drink and more! Snacks, lunch and an event t-shirt are provided for all volunteers.
