SOLVE: Sauvie Island – Walton Beach Cleanup for July (07/09/2016)
Posted by hannah.cherry
Join us for the The Sauvie Island Walton Beach Cleanup!
This is a self directed cleanup of a stretch of beach along the beautiful Columbia River on Sauvie Island.
Sauvie Island is a federal wildlife preserve and currently supports a biologically diverse association of wildlife which includes at least 275 species of birds, 37 species of mammals, 12 species of reptiles and amphibians. It is also home to many farms that bring us delicious vegetables, fruits and preserves. Sauvie is also home to the Pumpkin Patch!
This is the first of a projected series of cleanups. Bags, gloves and site safety information will be available on the day of the event. All ages are welcome but youth under 18 will need parental permission to attend alone. Parking passes will be provided. Dress appropriately for the weather and for beach walking. Bring a water bottle!
Help us keep this beautiful island clean for everyone to enjoy!
