Portland Community College Newberg Center: Volunteers Wanted! – Newberg Learning Garden Cob Shed Construction

Interested in learning about natural building?
Earthen construction is practiced around the world and the Newberg Learning Garden is using traditional building techniques from wet and windy Wales for inspiration. We will be building the walls for the cob garden shed at the Newberg Center’s new learning garden! Our weekly work parties will be led by natural building instructor Bernhard Masterson. Volunteers welcome, come and learn new skills! Please bring work gloves, work clothes for the day’s weather, snacks and water.
Tasks: shoveling, carrying buckets, pushing wheelbarrows, mixing cob, applying and sculpting cob, trimming cob
Number of volunteers needed: 10-15

Portland Community College’s Newberg Center is located at 135 Werth Blvd, Newberg, OR 97132. The Center is developing a learning garden and in need of volunteers that like to have fun and play in the dirt!
