Come Volunteer and Enjoy a Night of Craft Beer and Music at Brews for New Avenues!

Brews for New Avenues features a live auction of some of the world’s rarest beers, silent auctions, an amazing assortment of local craft beers on tap, live music, food carts, and free root beer floats for designated drivers!

What’s more, it’s all for a good cause. Brews is a signature event of the Ambassador Board of New Avenues for Youth, with 100% of proceeds supporting programs that help youth experiencing or at risk of homelessness. This event takes place on Saturday, August 27th at the Left Bank Annex.

We are in search of volunteers to help with a variety of different roles, including:

  • VIP Check-Out and Auction Registration
  • Silent Auction
  • Floaters (to assist wherever needed)
  • Wall of Beer Game Assistants
  • Root Beer Float Servers
  • Merchandise and Beer Token Sales
  • Registration/Check-In of Attendees
  • Keg Runners
  • Clean-Up Crew

Shifts are typically 2-3 hours long, depending on the role. We will have volunteer support throughout the day, with shifts beginning as early as 10AM, and going as late as Midnight. Volunteers are granted free entry to the event, along with a commemorative glass, a food voucher, two drink tickets, and a Brews for New Avenues t-shirt.

All of the roles listed above require volunteers to be at least 21 years of age, with the exception of the Clean-Up Crew who will be volunteering from 10:30PM-Midnight, after the event ends.

About the Organization

New Avenues for Youth was established in 1997 by local business and community leaders in response to the growing needs of homeless and at-risk youth in downtown Portland. Our founders believed that every young person should have food, shelter, and access to education and job training and that we must go beyond meeting those basic needs by offering programs that heal young lives and nurture growth and independence. Since 1997, we have impacted the lives of more than 20,000 individuals through a range of services that address basic needs & safety, provide opportunities for education & career, and help youth achieve self-sufficiency. Our mission is to work in partnership with our community to prevent youth homelessness and provide homeless and at-risk young people with the resources and skills needed to lead healthy, productive lives.
