Hillsboro Public Library: Calling all makers! Hosts wanted for new makerspace in Hillsboro!
Posted by hannah.cherry
Hillsboro Public Library will be opening a makerspace in Spring 2017 for patrons 10 and older to get hands-on experience with science, technology, art, and craft tools and supplies. In addition to classes and meetup groups, we’re planning regular open labs for people to come in and use our equipment to complete their own projects. We’re starting out with equipment to work with textiles, papercraft, and electronics, but will be adding other tech as we grow.
Makerspace Hosts will engage participants who come to the labs, help them as necessary, and encourage creativity. You don’t need to be a tech expert to be a Host–just be willing to learn, curious to try new things, excited to share new things with others, and unafraid to make mistakes while you figure things out. If you’re 16 or older, like to talk to other creative people, and want to learn all about making cool stuff, this is the job for you!
