Help Children K-3 Learn to Read – Be an AARP Experience Corps Mentor (age 50+)

AARP Experience Corps is a special inter-generational program which matches volunteers age 50+ to young children in Eastside Portland and Gresham public schools who need that special connection to thrive in school.

Volunteers serve 4-6 hours per week, either during school or in after-school programs. Some stipends may be available for those able to serve 8-10 hours. Accepting applications now for school year 2017-18.

Metropolitan Family Service helps people move beyond the limitations of poverty, inequality and social isolation. They do this through the Schools Uniting Neighborhoods program. The SUN Program at Earl Boyles Elementary School encompasses a wide array of services, including an after-school program, food pantry, childcare services, adult education and more!
