Cedar Sinai Park: Volunteer Opportunities
Cedar Sinai Park is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing residential and community-based care for elders and adults with special needs. Our life-enrichment program offers a wide variety of engaging activities and events on a daily basis. Volunteers are at the heart of what we do!
- Socializing: One-on-one socializing is a very meaningful way to volunteer and makes a great impact on the lives of our residents. Volunteers may read out loud, play one-on-one games such as dominoes, chess, and checkers, work on a puzzle together, look through family photos, or simply talk with residents and spend time getting to know them.
- Games and Bingo: Our residents love to play games! Each week we host multiple rounds of Bingo, with volunteers calling numbers, assisting residents during the game and passing out prizes.
- Creativity, Crafts and Gardening: We provide a wide range of creative activities, from art classes on ceramics, painting and beading to seasonal cooking events. Volunteers help residents create artwork, jewelry and other projects.

Volunteers of America Oregon: Support young children in our Family Relief Nursery
At VOA Oregon’s Family Relief Nursery (FRN), we work to reduce that pressure through providing resources and parent support so the family can stay strong and healthy.
You can be an immediate support to children by providing caring, affirmation, and structure. This is a great way to feel the joyful energy young children bring, learn vital skills to supporting their growth, and get an insider’s look at social work and early childhood education in action.
Classroom Assistant: Pair up with a classroom teacher to support an age-specific therapeutic classroom. Learn our unique intervention model, expand the type and depth of activities, provide 1:1 support, and be the adult a young child connects with while they grow and learn.
