Passport Oregon: Volunteer Social and Training for Summer IRCO Cohort
Posted by Madison Omohundro
Want to volunteer with a great group of young students from the Immigrant and Refuge Community Organization (IRCO) and get to explore the beauty of Oregon?
Come learn about our organization and volunteer opportunities at our volunteer social and training!
Get to know Passport Oregon Staff Members and other volunteers while getting prepared for the handful of trips that we will be hosting this summer.
Please contact Ariel Kanable at ariel@passportoregon.org to learn more about the organization, the trip schedule this summer or to get ahead on registering to volunteer because you are eager to take our young students exploring!
The event begins on Saturday, June 17th from 10am – 4pm at the Embassy Suites Washington Square (9000 SW Washington Square Rd, Portland, OR 97223-4426, United States). For the first half of the event, we will do the beginning introductions of our organization, policies and procedures, and expectations while getting to know Passport Oregon staff members and other volunteers. Then the event will shift to Tryon Creek State Park to move into the training piece of working to get all volunteers prepared for going on trips, how to interact with students, lead trips/activities, and more.

About the Organization
Passport Oregon was founded in the Spring of 2016 with the vision to take students and their parents out of the normal day-to-day and into nature. We partner with schools and community groups to identify young Oregonians that lack avenues to adventures in Oregon’s outdoors. We then gather students into a cohort, and they travel together 2 times a month on various trips around Oregon. We want every Oregonian to experience the state of Oregon.
