Community Energy Project: Volunteer Workshop Leader
Posted by hannah.cherry
Join our workshop instructor team as we teach community education to over 1,000 Portlanders every year.
Develop your skills as a public speaker while making sure people attain the knowledge for how to live safely and comfortably in their home. Using multi-sensory teaching styles, we help people take immediate steps to keep their home warmer, safer, and more livable. You will be supported every step of the way, learning the workshop material, our teaching style, and how to work with interpreters.
Have real impact…
95% of the workshop attendees take immediate steps to improve their home as a result of what they learn. You will be a part of this movement that leverages education for a better community. Opportunity is September 2018-December 2018.

About the Organization
Founded in 1979, Community Energy Project believes that everyone deserves a safe, healthy, efficient home regardless of income. We do this through education, hands-on training, and distribution of weatherization, and lead poisoning prevention materials. We also provide direct weatherization and safety repairs to seniors and people with disabilities. We deliver these services in partnership with community members and service organizations, utilities, corporations, foundations, and government agencies.
About the Volunteer Opportunities Newsletter
The Volunteer Opportunities Newsletter allows students, faculty, and staff at PCC a more comprehensive look at volunteer needs and opportunities from our community partners. Our hope is that the newsletter will allow subscribers to stay better informed about community service opportunities in the tri-county areas of Portland, Oregon, as well as non-profit internships and scholarships available locally and nationally.
