City of Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT): VISION ZERO outreach volunteers need for August 25th Jade Night Market
Posted by hannah.cherry
Volunteers needed to get the word out about VISION ZERO!
Portland VISION ZERO team that is working to eliminate all traffic deaths and serious injuries on our streets. Our upcoming outreach event will be during the Jade Night Market on Saturday, August 25th from 8:30 – 10:00 PM at SE 82nd Ave & SE Division St. We are actively recruiting volunteers ages 16 years+ to help with this event.
In exchange for your time, I am able to offer each registered volunteer a small gift card as a THANK YOU gift!
The VISION ZERO outreach will take place during the final 1.5 hours of the Jade Night Market community festival that takes place on PCC SE Campus. The outreach event will include volunteers wearing a bright orange safety vest handing out reflective pedestrian safety lights and a VISION ZERO information sheet to people leaving the Jade Night Market on foot at 82nd & Division, people getting on/off the bus at 82nd & Division, and people leaving a PCC SE Campus parking lot in a vehicle.
Each volunteer will be supplied with a safety vest, a supply of reflective safety lights, suggested talking points, and the safety information to hand out to people walking on the sidewalk or getting on/off the bus and to people leaving the parking lot in a vehicle.
No experience is needed other than a willingness to hand out transportation safety lights and information. If at any time anyone has any questions about our materials or what we are doing, PBOT staff will be available to answer questions and provide more information. PBOT will have a brief training for everyone involved at 8:30 PM followed by the outreach event.
Anyone interested in participating should email Sharon White (sharon.white@portlandoregon.gov) no later than Wednesday, August 22nd.
