Ready, Set, Go!
RSG Program Description
Ready, Set, Go is an early learning model that brings children (three to five years old) and their adult caregivers together in a rich learning environment where Parent-Child Interactions Groups, Parenting Classes, and Community Engagement are designed to support a smooth transition into Kindergarten and lifelong success. Through concurrent adult caregiver and child education, Ready, Set, Go works to increase the caregiver’s capacity and confidence to enhance prosocial development and age appropriate growth as their child’s “first teacher,” while supporting children’s needs and interests, emphasizing children’s curiosity as a driving force behind programming.
AmeriCorps Position
The AmeriCorps Member will support the Ready, Set, Go classroom at Bilquist Elementary. In this role you will:
- Support Parent and Child Interaction Groups
- Develop and lead physical activities
- Plan and lead health and wellness events such as: yoga series, cooking classes, painting workshops, visits from local dentists, doctors and other health practitioners, etc.
- Provide resources for families
- Coordinate and recruit volunteers
- Attend professional development trainings including: restorative justice, Youth Mental Health First-Aid, and child development, as well as many other opportunities for professional growth.
- Connect with fun and loving families
- Join a supportive work community
The position will be filled before the end of August
