Have you been looking for an opportunity to give back and engage meaningfully in your community?

The Quest Center for Integrative Health is currently looking for someone that is interested in doing just that, by volunteering their time as a Nutrition and Childcare Volunteer for the Women of Wisdom program! For years, the Women of Wisdom program has been offering a community of support and sisterhood to women living with HIV, and their children. The WOW program prides itself on providing a safe space for connecting, learning, and never eating Wednesday dinner alone. Every Wednesday, WOW offers a rotating schedule of education programs, wellness workshops, and drop-in support groups with free childcare and nutritious community meals.

Quest is currently seeking a compassionate Nutrition & Childcare Volunteer to help support both the food service and childcare aspects of this fantastic program. We provide childcare completely free to our W.O.W. members so that they can attend this support group. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with women and children in your community! Since WOW is a drop-in group and attendance varies, this position requires some flexibility. Volunteers will be asked to help with a consistent food prep shift from 2-4PM, followed by a tentative childcare shift from 4:30-7, depending on whether or not children are present. The number of children present can vary weekly, though maximum is usually 4 children. When no children are in attendance, the volunteer will be welcome to share dinner with our group, and then be relieved of duties. When possible, Quest staff will provide advance notice that childcare is not needed. Benefits include the opportunity to gain learn more about nutritious food preparation from a local expert, gain experience with childcare, and provide meaningful support to help the Women of Wisdom family grow and thrive. We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.

About the Organization

Quest Center for Integrative Health is a nonprofit integrative wellness center that operates in a community based setting. Founded in 1989 as “Project Quest Integrative Health Center” by two friends, Lusijah Marx, RN, PMHNP, PsyD, and Lucas Harris, Quest was originally a psychosocial support service provider for people living with HIV/AIDS. Since that time, Quest’s services have expanded to include all those living with chronic illnesses and pain in addition to a holistically focused medical/wellness component. For nearly three decades, our vision remains constant: we strive to meet the needs of people who are experiencing challenges to their physical, mental and emotional health. We endeavor to create a place of healing, where our clients trust and value Quest Center as an inclusive, empowering, safe and diverse community of support.
