  • PCC Scholarship Workshops and Resources
    • They offer a lot of work sessions during the application season, to review your PCC Foundation Application and Essays and give you feedback. Make sure you contact your references early and make time to research and write essays for the scholarships outside of the general application.
  • Scholarship Resource Handout
  • Reading/Writing Center
    • Ann Hirshbein was my regular tutor for many terms working through reading and writing assignments and was a huge help in getting my scholarship essays written and edited. I highly recommend utilizing the Reading Writing Center (RWC) if you cannot take the CG 105 Writing for Scholarships course, or if you need assistance in editing and writing to a specific audience.
  • Writing for Scholarships Class for Fall 2023
  • Students with Disabilities can request a tutor during week 3 of the term and request extended time with regularly scheduled appointments weekly. If you scroll towards the bottom of the link above to PCC’s tutoring site, under the accommodations heading you can find the link to the form. You will need to work with your Accessible Education & Disability Resources counselor to arrange this with the tutoring center.
  • Career Services also has career advising. They reached out to me for help with interview prep when I was invited to interview for the Ford Family Foundation Scholarship. That was amazingly helpful and I highly recommend looking into the resources and advising options through Careers Services. Jen Poiner was very accommodating and helpful. You can request an appointment and they will reach out about what your specific needs are. This is how I got connected to the one-on-one scholarship information session.
    • Early in the school year, I set up a one-on-one scholarship information session with a peer student leader working in Career Services. It was very informative and helpful, they walked you through the handout I will share below and how to navigate the scholarship application websites, application process, essays, and other resources to search for scholarships.
  • External Scholarships
    • Categorized by interest, major, and identity – sadly no category for Disabled students.
  • Oregon Goes to College
    • You can filter your search results to what you are looking for and even make it very clear when deadlines are, there are some scholarships available that are offered later than the typical February/March deadlines.
