This experimental group, which began as an alternative exhibition space in Southeast Portland, was founded by participating artists Dieng and Janchar. Here, they will be creating site-specific work in the gallery space as well as engaging with Sylvania community in sound and and other cross-disciplinary performances. A closing event, to be announced, will also feature electronic music by Portland-based musician, Matt Carlson.
From Exhibitions to Residencies, Concerts to Poetry Readings, Worksound has developed a legacy as a Lab for Art practice, Music practice, Community engagement, ephemeral Arts and Progressive programs. Worksound is an Incubator for relevant creativity and culture, adding to the conversation about Contemporary Art in Portland, and around the World. Worksound’s foundation lies in the collaborations with Artists, Writers, and Musicians in Production of New works that challenge boundaries of conventional practices.
As an Art space, Worksound has managed to stay relevant, progressive and adaptable while encouraging broad public appreciation and access to Arts and Contemporary Culture.
