Letter and Line – Issue 11
Azul Da Silva and Anic Ulrope
We are excited to share with you the eleventh issue of Letter & Line, a Portland Community College literary journal. Envisioned and digitally assembled during a worldwide pandemic, this issue is an ode to the value of written and visual art, how it buoys us and connects us across time and space.
The editorial process for this issue was nothing short of innovative, as the whole editorial team worked hard to encourage and support one another while we built a cohesive vision only through digital means. In lieu of a copy room, we met in Zoom rooms, Discord, and on Google Docs to create an issue of which we are all very proud. Somehow, in this process, we transformed every digital space that hosted us into our own and made this socially distant time a little bit less distant and more human as a result.
The Spring 2021 issue is abundant with pieces that invite us to connect: with our place of birth, with ourselves, with each other, and even with our four-legged friends. In these pages you will find work that delights, comforts, and affirms both our softest and most jaded selves. Come as you are, we welcome you to join us in this historical time and take a moment to enjoy the outstanding talent of PCC students and community.
