2018-19 Inclusion Advocate Training Announcement

We are happy to introduce the 2018-19 Inclusion Advocates Workshop sessions – your opportunity to become an advocate for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in PCC’s hiring process!

Beginning this month, HR and the Office of Equity and Inclusion will offer the Inclusion Advocate Workshops in two required 1/2 day modules – giving you more flexibility to find sessions that fit your schedule: Module 1: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Module 2: Inclusion Advocates in Action There will be two sessions of each module available monthly – dates to follow shortly – offered at each campus at least twice during this academic year. The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Module is required before signing up for the Inclusion Advocates in Action Module.

Call To Action: Sign up to become one of PCC’s new Inclusion Advocates today!  The screening and selection of new employees has a critical impact. PCC is committed to ensuring equity and inclusion at each screening stage, and strongly promote diversity in our hiring.

Program Objective: Train, develop and support a cohort of volunteer Inclusion Advocates to participate on PCC Screening Committees to broaden the lens of equity and inclusion, and be culturally competent advocates in the College’s recruiting, screening and hiring. This program was developed jointly as a partnership of OEI and HR.

Training Objective: As an Inclusion Advocate, you will serve on a Screening Committee, advocating for inclusion, and recognition and discussion of unconscious or structural bias that may be impacting applicants. This initial one-day training is intended to arm you with knowledge and tools to facilitate this role on the screening committee.
