Apply for Funding to Attend the National Conference on Race & Ethnicity (NCORE)

Posted by

As you may know, the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity (NCORE) will be held in Portland in Spring 2019! “The conference focuses on the complex task of creating and sustaining comprehensive institutional change designed to improve racial and ethnic relations on campus and to expand opportunities for educational access and success by culturally diverse, traditionally underrepresented populations.”

The Human Resources Department, Office of Professional & Organizational Development, the Office of Equity & Inclusion and the Office of Academic affairs are partnering to fund the conference registration for 20 employees to participate in this great opportunity!

Funding

  • The maximum amount of funding for each person awarded is $625 to cover the cost of registration (before April 1, 2019)
  • If you would like to attend the pre-conference institute you will need to seek funding from another source

Eligibility

  • FT Faculty, PT Faculty with Multi-Year Contracts or Assignment Rights and all Academic Professionals, Managers, Classified and Confidential Employees are eligible to apply

Application Process

  • Please submit your application no later than 5:00pm Friday, January 18, 2019
  • Selections will be made by a committee based on application responses
  • Confirm supervisory approval to attend the conference before applying for funding

Please do NOT apply for a POD Conference Grant to attend this conference. If you already have and would like to be considered for funding for this conference you will need to submit this application instead.
We plan to convene a post-NCORE summit at the beginning of the Fall 2019 term wherein PCC colleagues who attended and/or presented at the conference can share stories, insights, and questions. If you are selected to receive funding, your participation at this summit will be strongly encouraged.
