Open Road Lures RV’ers
Tanasbourne – The American love affair with the open road was never stronger than with RV’ers. Now you can join them, and earn an insurance discount, when you enroll in two RV driving seminars on Saturdays, May 3 and 10 at the Washington County Workforce Training Center.
The first, or Introduction to RV’ing, course will cover all aspects of traveling part-time or full-time with a home on wheels, motor home, fifth wheel or pull trailer. Topics to be covered by experienced RV’er Susan Davenport will include purchase, driving, safety, maintenance, insurance, state parks, resorts, organizations, caravans and rallies.
The second, or RV Defensive Driving, course will consist of demonstrations,
lecture and discussion on RV safety and operation. A certificate of completion qualifies students for an insurance discount.
Tuition for the intro course, which meets in Room 1561 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 3, is $20; tuition for the defensive driving course, set for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m on May 10 in Room 1509, is $45. Form Equals Function under Feng Shui
Tanasbourne – When the new Denver airport was opened in 1994, one of the more interesting criticisms was that by the rules of “Feng Shui,” or the Chinese art of Placement, the layout was all wrong. Learn how our homes and offices impact our lives in The Art of Feng Shui, a one-day seminar on Saturday, May 3 at the Capital Center.
Feng Shui holds that many of our challenges in life can be traced to how our physical environment affects us. Feng Shui consultant Ann-Marie Holmes will teach a six-hour workshop including a lecture and hands-on techniques you can use to bring a clear understanding of incorporating Feng Shui skills into your home or office. It can also be a useful tool for professionals to incorporate into their work.
Tuition is $17.50 plus $20 payable to the instructor for materials. Class meets in Room 1508 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Capital Center, also known as the Washington County Workforce Training Center, located at 18624 N.W. Walker Road at 185th Avenue.
