Photos and story by

ALOHA – Many challenges in life can be traced to how our physical environments affect us. So say the tenets of "Feng Shui," or the Chinese art of placement. Learn exactly how our homes and offices impact our lives in two one-day seminars on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 3 and 4 at the Capital Center.

In Introduction to the Art of Feng Shui on Oct. 3, lecturer Carol Cannon will include visuals to enhance your understanding of basic Feng Shui principles and how to integrate them into your home or workplace.

On Oct. 4, Exploring Deeper into the Art of Feng Shui continues the first course. Cannon clarifies how you can use Feng Shui, and uses visuals to display specific features inside and outside of buildings that affect your life. Students are encouraged to bring nine red envelopes and nine pennies to class as part of an old Chinese custom.

Course fee is $30. Class meets in Room 1508 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Capital Center, also known as the Washington County Workforce Training Center, located at 18624 N.W. Walker Road at N.W. 185th Avenue.
